Little Guatemala Coffee Shop & Roaster
Morganton, North Carolina – 8,300 SF Adaptive Reuse
Little Guatemala is a vibrant cultural and culinary hub located in the heart of Morganton, NC. This 8,300-square-foot adaptive reuse project transforms a historic downtown building into a dynamic community gathering place. The space includes:
Multi-Purpose Gymnasium – A flexible indoor venue for soccer games, tournaments, and special community events.
Authentic Coffee Shop & Kitchen – Serving Guatemalan street food alongside freshly brewed coffee roasted in-house.
Coffee Roaster – A small-batch roastery where guests can learn about the craft and heritage of Guatemalan coffee.
Cultural Museum – Exhibits and displays celebrating Guatemalan traditions, customs, textiles, and storytelling.
Outdoor Covered Deck – A shaded space for eating, socializing, and connecting across cultures.
Rooted in the belief that food, sport, and culture can bridge divides, Little Guatemala is more than a business—it’s a mission. Founded by Christian and Erica Ramazzini, whose intercultural marriage reflects the spirit of unity, Little Guatemala is designed to help neighbors from different backgrounds come together.
Morganton’s Guatemalan population makes up nearly 19% of the city’s residents, and Little Guatemala celebrates that richness while addressing the cultural divides that often accompany rapid demographic change. Here, guests can share a meal, join a pick-up soccer game, chat with a local craftsperson, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with someone new.
Whether you're sampling handmade chocolate, strolling the indoor food street, or cheering from the bleachers, Little Guatemala invites you to experience the joy and connection found at the crossroads of culture and community.
