MICA AVENUE TOWNHOMES

Morganton, North Carolina
Design-Build Partner: Moss Marlow Building Company, Inc.

This four-unit townhome building represents the initial phase of a larger planned development along Mica Avenue in Morganton, North Carolina. Conceived as a model for smart infill growth, the project introduces contemporary, well-proportioned housing to a walkable residential neighborhood near the town’s urban core.

Each three-story unit offers approximately 2,300 heated square feet, with a layout tailored for both functionality and comfort. The ground floor includes an integrated garage and entry area. The main living level features an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space that extends to a generous front porch. The upper floor includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in closet within the primary suite.

The exterior design strikes a balance between cohesion and variation. Crisp white and charcoal gray finishes are paired with dark window frames and standing seam metal porch roofs. Alternating rooflines and entry details introduce rhythm across the front elevation, while rear balconies take advantage of the site's natural slope and offer private outdoor space.

Built in collaboration with Moss Marlow Building Company, Inc., this building sets the architectural and planning tone for the phases to follow. It prioritizes quality construction, livable space, and context-sensitive development—demonstrating how small-scale density can enhance the fabric of a growing community.
